I think I lost track of time At some point in my mind But I guess it’s just fine As long as I find words that rhyme But it’s so clear As I’m standing here That you won’t be seeing me around Find it out Without a doubt You won’t be seeing me around No you won’t be seeing me around Well we all need to try It’s the only way to get by And it doesn’t matter why Sometimes you just sit sad and sigh But it’s so clear As I’m standing here That you won’t be seeing me around Find it out Without a doubt You won’t be seeing me around No you won’t be seeing me around

I think of it all the time The willows and the wine With nothing to catch my fall Five storeys up the wall With no time to take a breath Look around and see what’s left I hate to admit it but it’s true Damned if I don’t damned if I do Hiding behind your eyes It came as a surprise What would you tell your friend When it’s near the end With no time to take a breath Look around and see what’s left I hate to admit it but it’s true Damned if I don’t damned if I do

Some think that daydreams Will likely disappear Voices always warning me That the end is always near Some sing for fun Others sing out of fear If your ship is sinking Does it matter how you steer? In a last attempt to get out of here With all of this screaming It’s hard to think straight And all of this thinking Is keeping me up late What some call a death sentence Others call a career But I hope my stormy skies Don’t ever clear Cause they will be my ticket out of here…

about

Elephants and Dogs, named after the mnemonic for memorizing guitar strings, is the solo project of Toronto-based artist Joe Narducci. The theme of their debut EP ‘You Won’t Be Seeing Me Around’ can be summed up by the lyric, "I hope my stormy skies don't ever clear, cause they will be my ticket out of here." Sadness is often the best inspiration. Elephants and Dogs recorded these songs over a couple of late nights at the now-defunct Soleil Sound Studio in Toronto.

On ‘You Won’t Be Seeing Me Around,’ Elephants and Dogs began as a guitar and vocal demo, recorded one sonic layer at a time, and Joe tracked the majority of the instruments. Joe had some help from his longtime friend and musical partner Jack Davies, who contributed Bass on the title track and Pine Valley. Many artists inspired this EP, including Mac Demarco, Goth Babe, Crumb, Slowdive, and Radiohead. Joe got his start playing music in the clubs of Kingston, ON Canada, with his two bands Bo Welland and JIMBO. When Joe is not making music, he's looking at pictures of cute possums and raccoons on the internet.
